Joshua Zirkzee: Manchester United Exploring Deal for Dutch Striker
Bologna forward linked with move to Old Trafford
Manchester United are reportedly exploring a deal to sign Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee from Italian club Bologna.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Bologna this season, scoring 10 goals in 24 Serie A appearances. His performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United.
According to reports, Manchester United are keen to bolster their attacking options and see Zirkzee as a potential target. The club has yet to make a formal approach to Bologna, but club-to-club talks are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
Zirkzee, who has represented the Netherlands at Under-21 level, began his career at Feyenoord before joining Bayern Munich in 2017. He spent three seasons with Bayern's reserve team before breaking into the first team in 2020.
After struggling for regular playing time at Bayern, Zirkzee joined Anderlecht on loan in 2021. He impressed during his time in Belgium, scoring 18 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
Zirkzee's form for Bologna has seen him regain his place in the Netherlands squad. He scored on his debut for the national team in a friendly against Wales in November 2022.
If Zirkzee does make the move to Manchester United, he will become the club's second Dutch signing of the summer following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.
